Fresh off the blistering 2020 that he had with the success of his third studio album “A Better Time” which produced three solid hits Fem, Jowo, and The Best.
This year, Davido has gone on a sick collaboration run in which he has featured as a guest artist 10 times.
Focalistic‘s Ke Star, Teni‘s For You, Peruzzi‘s Somebody Baby, Small Doctor‘s Mandem remix, Zlatan‘s Cho Cho, KDDO‘s Beamer Body, Rexxie‘s All, Skales’ This Your Body, LAX‘s Pepe, and Konshen‘s Boom Bang.
Among these features, the biggest of them is the Ke Star remix with Focalistic. I dare say Davido delivered the best performance for a featured artist in any song in the country this year.
The song contains too many quotable lyrics in which the line “It goes down when my G’s connect” has gone on to become the most popular.
The second biggest of the collaborations is the track with Teni on what I call one of the finest collaborations of the year so far. The way both artists’ verses bounced off each other was beyond a telepathic connection. The two artists previously worked together when Teni wrote Davido‘s 2017 single “Like Dat”
“Somebody Baby” with record label mate Peruzzi was the 1000th collaboration between the two artists. They make a lot of tracks together but it is still one combination that has recorded no misses.
It is the way Davido delivers quotable lyrics in these collaborations.
In “Cho Cho” with Zlatan, the line “I no do yanga, but I can do yanga, shey make I do yanga, I go do yanga” is my favourite.

To add to the list of these sick collaborations Davido is set to feature on a track with American rapper Da Baby. Fam, e choke die.
